I finished it! Earlier this month I posted about going sew-rogue and trying to sew a shirt (err ok, it turned into a dress) without a pattern. It was really fun, and it was definitely a challenge! I took a tank top and traced it to form the top of the dress, used longer pieces of fabric for the bottom, added some bias tape and, for a finishing touch, sewed in some elastic to the waist. Now, I probably would not wear this out of the house, but I'm proud of it! I can put together a piece of clothing without a pattern and I know that as I go along, I'll improve my skills. So even though I may not feel comfortable wearing this particular piece, I know that in the future I will be able to make pieces I love.
